Pamir Bezmen

Pamir Bezmen was born into an immigrant Kapanci family from Salonica. His father was Mehmet Cazím, mother was Ayse Sermin Bezmen, daughter of famous industrialist, Halil Ali Bezmen. On his mother's side, he was also descended from the family of Selanikli Mehmed Esad Dede, whose family goes back to a Sephardic family from the sixteenth century Livorno, Italy. Pamir completed his high school education at Robert College in Istanbul in 1958 and earned a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Oklahoma State University in 1962.

Bezmen's professional career began as the director and plant manager at Ytong Inc. in Istanbul from 1963 to 1967. He then served as the director of the renowned Mensucat Sartral Inc. from 1965 to 1979 and as managing director of Tapa Inc., Tasfar Inc., and Tasas Inc. He also worked for several other companies and was a director and partner at PMR Publications.
Recognized as a noteworthy industrialist by Marquis Who's Who, Bezmen also served as the honorary consul general of Bangladesh and as the chairman of the board of trustees at Beyoğlu Anadolu Lisesi (formerly British High School). He was the vice chairman of the board of directors at Dost Lycee in Istanbul during the 1980s.

Bezmen was a member of several prestigious associations, including the Bosphorus University Alumni Association, the Robert College Alumni Association, and the Hunting and Rifle Association. He was also involved in the Turkish Touring and Auto Association, the Classical Car Club in both Turkey and the USA, the Mountaineering Club, the Fencing Club, the Tennis Club, Bizim Tepe Club, and the Sports Car Club of America.

He was also a great collector of antique objects, books, and family documents and records.
Pamir Bezmen married Ayse Nermin Ulus in 1975, and they had two children, Ayse Pamira and Pamir Cazim. His second marriage was to the famous author, Nermin Bezmen.
